We are thrilled to announce the appointment of our new Children and Youth Ministry Coordinator (CYMC), Jessie Gowan. Jessie will officially start work as our new CYMC on June 1st.

Working part-time Jessie’s role will be to help maximize the long-term success of our ministry to children and youth by supporting, coordinating, and growing our already awesome team of Children’s Ministry volunteers (please see the job description in this year’s annual report). Jessie comes into this position with a lot of experience working with children and youth in the area of spiritual formation, and a huge amount of enthusiasm for our church’s ministry to kids and teens.

This is a new paid position for our church and a new investment into the life of our church. In purely financial terms this new investment is reflected as a $10,000 line item in this year’s budget. Groups in the church have already committed to raising funds to help furnish this investment, but we also ask you, the people of St. Paul’s, prayerfully consider this new investment into the spiritual lives of our children as you make your regular offerings to the ongoing work of our parish.

In other news, our on-going mission to increase the accessibility and versatility of our gathering space has taken another step forward with the approval by Vestry of the purchase of 125 brand-new high-quality church chairs.  The total cost of the chairs, along with 30 matching kneelers, taxes and shipping has been calculated at $9322.48. Delivery and installation has been scheduled to take place sometime between the months of July and August in advance of our annual Vacation Bible School.

If you would like to help us pick the colour of our new chairs be sure to gather with us this Sunday, May 29th, at 9 am and 10:30 am and help us choose.

Until then, God bless.
